Dear Fellow EAA leaders,
Our 'Bear
Creek Aero Club', a building/flying club made up of EAA 1114 members, was donated a BD-4 project previously owned by a retired Grumman aerospace
engineer whose health precludes completion. While the BD-4 is an historic homebuilt design with great performance specs, no one in our chapter
has the time/place to work on it now.
Before listing it on the general sites for aircraft, we want to make sure that the VA/NC/SC homebuilder
community has the first chance. The project consists of the fuselage frame and what appears to be all angle/channel components,
most of these are primed and some are drilled. We also have a myriad of what appears to be purchased components, for instance for the
landing gear and controls. We also have the builder manual, "Build your own Airplane" from Jim Bede. Material includes literally thousands
of new Hi-Lok fasteners, but no engine and no avionics.
We're asking $3,000 for the entire inventory of parts, and will deliver everything within
a 150 mile radius of Raleigh, NC. A gallery of images may be found at this Flickr link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/52700950@N07/sets/72157628767471495/
