       Here is a list of events and activities scheduled for 2010.  Our Next event is shown directly below and highlighted.
     In the following section we will display specific dates that we have scheduled these events for during the first half of 2010.
     Finally there is a general list of re-occurring programs   We will update this page frequently, so check back often to stay up to date.

Saturday, February 6th, 2010 Rowan County Airport  (RUQ) Salisbury, NC,  Near the Mid-Field Wind SockServing from 11:00 AM until Everyone Goes Home (Come early for some rain or shine hangar flying)

Since the temperature could be cold and weather damp, it may be good to go to a hard surface and a place where we can be inside.  So, let's try the   57 Alpha Cafe' at Rutherford Co - Marchman Field.  We can have a good lunch and then fly back.  I will call ahead to confirm the arrangments. FAA Identifier:  FQD   Distance from RUQ to FQD is 81 miles

May 1, 2010 ---First Saturday Lunch "A Possible on the Road" Version.   Breakfast and Lunch Served at Morganton, NC in Support of the FAA Wings Program
May 14-16 Annual Weekend Retreat, Fly Away, Drive Away to Lumberton, NC for the Mid Atlantic Fly-In

June 5, 2010 ---First Saturday Lunch at the EAAgles Nest,  Dinner Served from 11:00 until everyone goes home.   

June 19, 2010-- Chapter 1083 Annual Poker Run  See rules and destination airports on the web site as the event approaches.   Lunch and Award following arrival at RUQ
July 3, 2010 ---First Saturday Lunch at the EAAgles Nest,  Dinner Served from 11:00 until everyone goes home.   
July 11, 2010-- Special Sunday Event The South Carolina Breakfast Club visits the EAAgles Nest at Salisbury/Rowan County Airport (RUQ) 
July 17, 2010--Saturday Fly-Away for Lunch, Destination to be announced.
August 21, 2010--Chapter 1083 First Annual Pilotage Ded Reckoning Contest. See rules and destination airports on the web site as the event approaches.   Lunch and Award following arrival back at RUQ.

Re-Occurring Events for 2010
Regular Monthly Business Meetings --EAA 1083 hosts a regular Chapter Business meeting at our hanger, the EAAgles Nest at the Rowan County Airport, (RUQ) on the second Tuesday of each Month. A dinner is served at 6:00 pm and the business meeting / program is at 6:45. All are welcome. A $5.00 donation is requested for dinner.
First Saturday Lunch --Each month we host our First Saturday Lunch. We serve from 11:00 until everyone goes home. The normal "Bill of Fare" includes Hot Dogs, Hamburger, and Featured Sandwiches and our Famous Fresh Cut French Fries. We are currently doing this Buffet Style for a $5.00 charge. All you care to eat and drinks are included. Come early for Show and Tell.   Sometimes We will have special Programs before our Dinner.   Example,  March 7th FAAst Team seminars at 9:00 and 10:00 with the help of Alpha One.
Chapter Fly-Outs --Chapter Fly-Outs are planed for the Saturday after the meeting, weather permitting. We all meet at the airport and match people to seats so everybody goes with our Share -a Ride Program.  Details are announced at the meeting.
